Since iTs inception the River City rat race has donated more than $160,823!
In 2021, after 20 years of organizing the race, the River City Rat Race Committee handed the Rat Race over to the Central Branch YMCA. Proceeds from the race have always gone to the Central Branch YMCA and continue to do so as a part of the YMCA of Great Fort Wayne’s Annual Campaign.
The Annual Campaign is a fundraising initiative that helps us in our commitment to relentlessly remove financial barriers, fulfilling our mission to make the Y available to ALL. One hundred percent of Annual Campaign contributions go back into the community. The campaign makes it possible for children, families, seniors, neighbors, and others to benefit from Y programs and memberships.
The Y believes that lasting personal and social change can only com about when we all work together, and the Rat Race is a key part of that effort.
